Walgreen�s Cosmetics Department Case Study
Lawrence Merchandising Services is proud to be one of the few
Merchandising Companies that Walgreen�s will trust to work in
their cosmetics departments in all 4700 Walgreen�s locations.
Lawrence Merchandising Services performs service for many
cosmetics manufacturers on an ongoing basis in over 15,000
retail doors nation wide.
A nationally recognized manufacturer of cosmetics designed a new
product package that would allow space for more products on their planogram in Walgreen�s.
There were two store level concerns; how to avoid a massive product return because of the new
packaging, and how to avoid losing sales due to a mark down on the existing product to make room
for the new packages.
Lawrence Merchandising Services redressed the product in the field.
The cosmetics manufacturer shipped over 50,000 sku�s of re-dress packaging to our 48,000 square foot
warehouse in Plymouth, Minnesota. We staged the shipping of the redress packages to our reps in the field.
By using our state of the art web driven technology to manage the service completions we completed the service
ahead of schedule with 98% completion in less than two weeks time.
The Cosmetics Manufacturer increased their sales by 30% and
avoided costly returns and markdowns. Walgreen�s was very please with the relationship with the
cosmetics vendor and very impressed with the store level service performed by Lawrence. We will be
developing and staging cosmetics resets in Walgreen�s through out 2005.
